Yay! We all Had Thursday and Friday off of work.Made Apple, Pecan, Pumpkin and Raspberry pies to take to mom’s…
Together with the eggs. The shells did not cooperate. I will try a different method next time. I was getting really frazzled not being able to find the vinegar (AGAIN!) so I eventually used white vinegar that I had. I made some with lots of mustard (yummy) and some without mustard (for certain people). Anyway they were all gone in a hurry so I guess everyone just wanted to see the plate
Went to put the plate back and you guessed it…found the apple cider vinegar right there.

Then we made everything (!) on Friday and had Lili’s parents and Aunt/Uncle over too. 20 lb turkey for the 6 of us. Candied sweet potatoes were awesome. so yummy! Wild rice and mushrooms. Mashed (glue) potatoes. Best gravy ever. Cheesy scalloped potatoes. Fresh green beans almondine (we roasted the almonds). Flaky layer rolls. Forgot the salad… (oops) Made another pumpkin pie (which is gone already)
and another raspberry pie and finished eating the pecan pie and apple pie a la ice cream! Also made whipped cream in my KitchenAid stand mixer. I LOVE THAT THING already. SWEET!

DID YOU BRINE?
We did this:

Except I forgot to use the low-sodium broth I had and used water and extra wine instead.
For the gravy I just used drippings and not extra wine (because I had already emptied the bottle).
